Happy 4th everyone! While many of us have plans to watch and/or shoot fireworks of our own tonight, we thought we'd share about how we can keep the sparks going in our love lives, even after celebrating Independence Day. :)
So how do we maintain or reignite those fireworks in our love lives?
Even though there is no "one size fits all" fix to keep the sparks going, there is research that trying new things with your partner can rekindle the flame of love.
With new experiences, you have the chance to see your partner with fresh eyes and rediscover the connection between you two.
It's easy to get into a routine (even a sex routine!) in a long-term relationship because you already know what to expect. We end up losing interest and take our relationship for granted.
Sharing new experiences together will create excitement and help you see why you fell in love with your partner in the first place.
Another way to spice things up is to switch it up in the bedroom!
Try new positions or a different location.
Take sex out of the bedroom and into the kitchen, closet, shower or anywhere else you'd like!
Speaking of sex out of the bedroom, have you heard the saying the "sex begins outside of the bedroom"?
This doesn't mean sex out of the bedroom in a literal sense.
It's connecting with your partner, building up that sexual tension, so that when you do actually get to the action, it'll be mind-blowing due to the anticipation that you both accumulated.
Flirting, great conversation, reminiscing on the past of great moments that you shared together, etc., are ways to build up this tension.
Trying these things out in your relationship are simple, yet powerful ways to keep those sparks going in your love life. The changes may not be overnight, but with enough time and effort from both partners, you will begin to feel different in your relationship for the better.
What are some ways that you have rekindled the flame with your partner?
If you're up to it, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
